Clinical Supervision and Practicum Opportunities
Develop stronger clinical judgment and a more confident way of working.
Clinical supervision is more than reviewing cases. It is a space to slow down, think critically, strengthen your use of self and explore what may be happening beneath the surface of the clinical work.
About the Clinical Director
La’Tarra Tynes-Whittaker, Founder and Clinical Director of Butterfly Effect Psychotherapy, brings more than 16 years of clinical experience and graduate training in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counselling.
Her supervision style is warm, active and direct. Supervisees are supported while also being encouraged to examine their assumptions, blind spots, emotional responses and areas for continued growth.
Areas of Focus
Supervision may include:
Individual and Group Supervision
Individual supervision inquiries are currently being considered for September 2026.
Group supervision may also be offered based on interest and availability.
Practicum and Internship Placements
Butterfly Effect Psychotherapy is currently exploring a limited number of graduate practicum and internship placements for Fall 2026 and future academic years.
Placements are considered carefully based on the student’s clinical readiness, professionalism, program requirements, learning goals and alignment with the values and therapeutic approach of the practice.
The structure of any placement will be developed in collaboration with the student and their educational program and will depend on university approval, supervision requirements and the needs of the practice.
Prospective students may submit an application for consideration. Selected applicants will be contacted to arrange an interview.
